Bella Vista Church of Christ

Where Christ is Lord, The Bible is taught, People are loved

Our Programs & Ministries

Bible Class Program
We provide classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings for people of all ages, cradle roll through adult. We also host a Vacation Bible School once a year during the summer. For more information, contact
Jared Dockery.

Youth Ministry
In addition to Bible classes, we provide various activities for the youth of the congregation to participate in. The young people have their own web page, which details coming activities, contains pictures, and lists daily Bible readings, and is updated weekly. For more information, contact our youth minister
Jared Dockery.

Van Pickup Ministry
Every Sunday, different men from the congregation take turns driving our van to pick up those members who cannot easily drive themselves to worship service. To volunteer for this work, or to arrange to be picked up, contact Dale Bridwell.

Ladies Bible Class
This class meets each Wednesday during the fall, winter and spring, from 10 to 11 a.m. It is a wonderful time for the ladies of the congregation to get together and discuss God's Word. Contact Nancy Barker if you have any questions.

Care For The Elderly
Every Tuesday, members from the congregation deliver and read mail to the residents at the Concordia Care Center, as well as reading passages from the Bible. Additionally, once a quarter we hold devotionals at Concordia as well as Village House. Also, for a month each year we deliver meals on wheels to the shut-ins in Bella Vista Village.

Care Group Ministry
The purpose of this ministry is to care for the needs of everyone in the congregation. Each member is assigned to a Care Group. When members are absent from worship, their Care Group leaders will contact them to check on their well-being. Also, if there is news within the congregation which needs to be disseminated, the group leader will telephone all the members in their group. Don Fry keeps the list updated.

Greeting Card Ministry
These ladies meet the third Monday of each month, and Patsy Tarr will be happy to fill you in on this important work.

Peacemakers
This is a group of ladies who get together once a week to share quilting and sewing tips. Sharon Phillips will be happy to tell you more about this neat group.

Fun, Food & Fellowship
Each of these groups consists of about six families, who meet once a month to enjoy fellowship with one another while eating a meal. Please contact Mary Louise Harris to join one of these fun groups.

Pictorial Directories
Dolores McBride is our in-house photographer. She will be contacting you to take your picture for the pictorial directory and also for the picture board in the foyer. If you have a photo you would prefer to be used, just let her know, and Dave Mowry will be happy to scan the picture and return it to you.

Men's Fellowship Golf
Every Thursday (yes, even in the winter months, weather permitting) men from the congregation gather to play at one of the Bella Vista golf courses. There will be a sign-up sheet posted in the foyer; contact Don Persels or more information.

Evening Fellowship Golf
The ladies join in with the guys for a once-a-week evening version of Fellowship Golf. Dennis Reinig posts these tee times on the bulletin board each Sunday.

Our Missions

Since this congregation of the Lord's people was begun in 1979, we have been very mission minded.

Selwyn Nel
For several years, we have supported Selwyn Nel and his family as they labor in Cape Town, South Africa. Selwyn works with the Bonteheuwel congregation, where he preaches, counsels and works with the youth. He also oversees the Athlone Christian academy.

Robert Miranda
Robert serves as the link between our eldership and several of our missionaries in South America. He and his wife Sybil hold workshops for Spanish speaking congregations in the States, in Mexico and throughout Latin and South America.

Javier Rosero
We have supported Javier and his family for over 15 years in Equador and Colombia. Currently, he and his wife Blanca live and work with two congregations in Bogota, Colombia.

Helmer Rosero
Helmer is an excellent young preacher of the gospel. He is the son of Javier and Blanca. We are proud to support His preaching efforts in Santiago, Chile.

Alvaro Ortiz
We have supported Alvaro for several years in Honduras. Currently he and his wife are in Panama City receiving additional Biblical studies, after which we will continue his support in the mission field.

Other Missions
Our church supports various other mission activities both in the States and abroad. Almost $10,000 is budgeted for work in the Ukraine. We also supply funds for preaching the word in India and in Togo, West Africa. We help support two preaching schools, one in Ecuador and another in Nigeria.

Gospel Tracts International
We support this fine work, overseen by the Baldwin congregation in Fayetteville, Ark. Every year, GTI prints about 2 million tracts and ships them free of charge to various mission points all over the world.

Green Valley Bible Camp
We financially support this Christ-oriented camp, located in Rogers, Ark. Many of our young people attend a week of this camp, which includes intensive Bible study, numerous athletic contests, and ample social time for spending with friends.

“Lifelines” Bulletin
We publish our weekly bulletin and send it to approximately 600 addresses scattered throughout the nation. LIFELINES contains timely gospel articles, as well as the “Family & Friends” column which reports on the sorrows and the joys and everything in between of our congregation.

Tape Ministry
Every week we mail over 70 tapes of our Sunday sermons to places throughout the United States. Elderly Christians who are shut-in find special comfort in this ministry. Also, small congregations without preachers have been known to play these tapes in their services!

Website
We host an internet website, www.churchofchristusa.com. This site contains Randall Caselman's sermons in text form, as well as the articles which have appeared in LIFELINES. Also, the site has links of interest for Christians of all locations throughout the world, as well as a special page for Bella Vista members, and another page for our young people.
